Chandigarh: The fourth day of the tournament may turn out as the transition point in the entire tournament. There was nothing new in the first game, while the second game played out till the last second.
The first game was played between Dark Bladers vs Zeliangrong Student Union Chandigarh . Only three words are sufficient to describe the entire game, the clash was that of “ Lion vs Lamb” with the ZSC boys playing the role of Lion. The game was a single sided affair in the first half with the score standing at 9-0 in favor of ZSC at the end . Only a miracle could now save the Dark Bladers, but it never came. ZSC ticked the score card six more times in the second half to take the game home with a jaw dropping score of 15-0 in their favor.
The second game got the adrenaline pumping among the spectators. The game was played between NPS and Panjab University-II. The game was highly electric with the score standing at 1-1 at the end of first half. In the second half also both teams fought till the end and scored one goal each. The score at the end was 2-2. Since this was a knock out game, it went to the tie breaker. Both teams were given nine strikes. PU-II team converted 8 of those into goals, whereas NPS just lagged PU-II by one shot, and were able to convert 7 of the nine strikes into goals.
Tomorrow first game will be played between Manipur Students Association (MSAC) and Chandigarh Mizoram Union ( CMU). The second clash will take place between Africa United and Dark Bladers.
The matches are being played in the Football Stadium Sector 17, the final of the tournament will be played on 20th October.
